Pool Filter Cleaning & Replacement
Professional filter maintenance and replacement services to keep your pool water crystal clear and circulation running efficiently.
Why Your Filter Is Critical
Your pool filter is the hardest working piece of equipment you own. It runs for hours every day, pulling water through and trapping dirt, debris, oils, and contaminants. Without a clean, functioning filter, your pool water turns cloudy and unsafe no matter how much you brush or vacuum.
Most Glendora homeowners do not realize their filter needs regular cleaning. Over time, trapped debris clogs the filter media, reducing water flow and making your pump work harder. This drives up energy costs and shortens the life of your equipment. Our pool filter cleaning service keeps everything running smoothly and efficiently.
A dirty filter cannot do its job. You will notice cloudy water, weak jets, and longer circulation times. If your pool stays dirty even after cleaning, your filter is probably the problem.
Types of Pool Filters We Service
We work on all three major types of pool filters. Each one requires different maintenance techniques:
Sand Filters
Sand filters use a bed of sand to trap particles. They need backwashing every few weeks to flush out trapped debris. Over time, the sand breaks down and loses effectiveness. We can backwash your sand filter or replace the sand if it has been more than 5 years since the last change.
Cartridge Filters
Cartridge filters have pleated fabric elements that catch debris. They need to be removed and hosed off every 2 to 4 weeks. When the pleats get too worn or clogged, the cartridge must be replaced. We offer both cleaning and full cartridge replacement.
DE (Diatomaceous Earth) Filters
DE filters provide the finest filtration but require more maintenance. The DE powder coats grids inside the filter and traps microscopic particles. These filters need backwashing and fresh DE powder added regularly. We clean the grids and recharge the system with the correct amount of DE.
Not sure what type of filter you have? We can identify it during our service visit and recommend the right maintenance schedule.
What We Do During Filter Cleaning
Filter cleaning is not just rinsing it with a hose. We perform a complete breakdown and deep clean to restore full filtration power.
- •Turn off pump and release pressure from the filter tank
- •Remove cartridges or open sand/DE filter housing
- •Inspect filter media for damage or excessive wear
- •Use high-pressure rinse to remove trapped debris and oils
- •Soak cartridges in filter cleaner solution to break down oils and calcium
- •Check O-rings and gaskets for leaks or wear
- •Reassemble filter and test for proper flow and pressure
If we find your filter is beyond cleaning, we will recommend a replacement. We stock most common cartridges and can order specialized parts quickly. For pools with persistent water quality issues, we may also suggest checking your pump and other equipment or scheduling regular maintenance.
